Living in WV we are very aware of Deer ravaging landscape plantings. We make recommendations based on our own experience. We are very aware that plants often appear on 'like' and 'do not like lists'. Deer being territorial, a local population may have different eating habits.

 We do advise that our smaller slower growing plants have some  protection either by spray, or physical means; until they are established. Often there is a period of acclimatization for deer and plant. A nibble out of a small plant, even if it is spat out in disgust leaves a big hole.
